With the perfect start, Gujarat occupy the top spot in the points table while CSK drop to the bottom of the table

Gujarat Titans started off right from where they left. The win and the manner in which it came, all seemed a familiar story. 

On Friday, in front of a packed Narendra Modi Stadium at home, the defending champions, led by Hardik Pandya, 

beat four-time winners Chennai Super Kings by five wickets to get their title-defense campaign off to a perfect start in IPL 2023. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad's classy 92 off 50 helped CSK post a total of 178 for seven. 

In response, Shubman Gill's 36-ball 63 put GT right on course for a win but it like most other Gujarat Titans matches, 

it required that finishing touch from Rashid Khan and a tuch of class from Rahul Tewatia to get the team over the finish line. 

We did put ourselves in a difficult situation but Rahul and Rashid did very well.
